The magic of Fantastic Mr Fox is hard for me to capture, so if you haven’t seen it, I recommend you do as soon as humanly possible! Until then though, here are some of the more specific things I enjoyed about it.

1. The Typography
Ok, Wes Anderson is known for using Futura in all of his movies, so I’m not so sure why he went for Helvetica this time round, but its a great choice none-the-less.

2. Attention to Detail
I love love love all the clever, careful attention to detail. It gives me a similar feeling to gazing at a beautifully constructed minitaure dolls house.

3. George Clooney as Mr Fox
To me this is his best role, similar to how I think Eddy Murphy’s best role is as Donkey in Shrek. Normally I find Clooney to be full of smarm, but in the role of Mr. Fox he is class and charm personified.

4. Jason Schwartzman as Ash
Maybe I’m biased as I love me a little bit of the Schwartzman, but Ash was definitely my favourite part of the movie. Hilarious, dorky and just a little bit sad. “There’s a lot of attitudes going on around here… don’t let me get one.” Brilliant.
